New job opening at amphion! We’re looking for a natural born leader to take up the role of Brand Activation Manager (BAM!) overseeing strategy, creation, implementation & follow-up of several of our high-profile projects. You know where to drill for a good idea and have the leadership capabilities to get (and keep) the pumps running. You can put together a nifty PowerPoint presentation with the swiftness of a fuel injection engine, and sit out meetings with the endurance of a Diesel. Check out all the info here and drop us a line if you are in for it!

Wendy and Karl from our Brussels team scooped up first place at the Young Creatives competition. In true David & Goliath steez our crew bested creative teams from Belgium’s biggest advertising agencies. Amphion who? Booyaka! First round knock-out. Congratulations guys, we’re proud! Check out their entry here.

With all the buzz surrounding the Netlog day, we might as well take a sec to drop a line about us designing the buttons, signs, bags, banners and other visual branding for this event. Yes, that big red cushion you had a hard time getting out of after sipping on too much of that bubbly was our idea. Guilty as charged!

Find some pics of the event here. Congratulations to Netlog, FTW!

As you might well know the area our offices are located in is thé hub for all things arty happening in Antwerp, littered with galleries and funky peeps. A few weeks ago Tim Van Laere gallery premiered Strange New Feelings, a new art show by Ed Templeton. The opening had the joint seriously packed, with skaters from all over town coming to greet their idol.

But did you know Ed put the finishing touches to the centerpiece of his new work in a makeshift art-studio right below the amphion offices? Damn right, be jealous! For about the week we had Beautiful Losers royalty using our sinks to clean his brushes, and our fridge to store his (vegan) lunchbox. Plus we got to hang out with him and Deanna. Ed even fixed us a Toy Machine gift pack. Thanks Ed, you’re welcome anytime!

Stop the press! While some so-called traditional advertising gurus have been spotted boldly proclaiming that online marketing does not work, amphion cooks up a online campaign for Coca-Cola that has consumers sending 800.000+ Coca-Cola E-cards during the Christmas period… generating €50.136 in charity for the Cliniclowns while everyone is happily clicking away at those ‘send buttons’.

Online marketing? YES WE CAN! Read the press release (in Dutch) and check out the site!

We admit, having a European social networking site with over 35 milion users as your friend is LIKE WHOA! Kind of makes your Facebook account look eetsy beetsy teeny weeny. Amphion designed Netlog merchandising, greeting cards and magazine, plus we’re working on an updated Visual ID. That’s what friends are for.

This one’s been online for a while! How could we forget?
While everybody was holding their breath to see if James Bond was actually gonna ditch his vodka/martini in favor of Coke Zero in Quantum of Solace, our underground organization (situated in a secret laboratory at the heart of an extinct volcano) was working hard on the new cokezero.be. For the alpha males at our office, this job truly was a dream as wet as Ursula’s knickers in Dr. No. We came up with the fantastic ‘boobytrap’ concept (pun intended, oh yes!) in which the player has to untie the straps of a Bond girl’s cocktail dress. Naturally, we put in a handful of naughty cheats and Easter eggs too for good measure.

Try hitting the space bar when you see a question mark appearing at the bottom right of the timer, then type in XRAY, BIGBOYS or VILLAIN. Enjoy the site, From Antwerp With Love.

A gem like this would almost get lost amidst all the big guns we are pulling out lately. This illustration was created for use on custom made wallpaper adorning the refurbished Baby Beluga store in Antwerp.

Oh joy! Christmas sure comes early this year, and it’s Coca-Cola that is handing out the presents… to the Cliniclowns! To facilitate this big, bright red benefactor we designed the new and improved version of last year’s huge (and hugely successful) “Wishmas tree”. Be your own little Christmas Elf and help Coca-Cola sponsor this good cause by sending your Season’s Greetings on coca-cola.be. Support the Cliniclowns! Every message counts! Ehhm… Yes, we can!

At a quick glance the new Golf is barely distinguishable from it’s predecessor. Especially when you view it at thumbnail size on the interwebs. To fully appreciate the subtle innovations you need to be able to inspect the car in actual size. So, quite simply, we came up with the concept and design to put the car online, in actual size, on nieuwegolf.be. The site was accompanied by a campaign of direct mailings, blog buzz and a Facebook app. Technical development and execution on this baby was done by our co-divers at Boulevart. Don’t forget your magnifying glass!

Whoowee! This year’s edition was over before we could update our portfolio, but rest assured: Ye Olde Amphion still is the Purveyor to The Royal House of I Love Techno. With an updated flash engine running smoother than ever, the 2008 site is one of the best we ever did for our Techno loving friends. Warning: extensive surfing may bust your crappy PC speakers!
